PEMGRAPH

Features

Whole Breast in the Field of View

The detector consists of two 20-cm-long parallel plates (20×14 cm2 each) and is designed so that the detector assembly can be moved vertically in 25-mm increments.
The detector spacing can be optimized to the size of the breast, allowing the entire breast, including the axillary and chest-wall regions, to be
included in the field of view with no blind areas.
Reduced Anxiety During Examination

Unlike X-ray mammography, PEMGRAPH does not require strong breast compression, and examinations can also be performed while the patient is wearing an examination gown.
This helps substantially reduce anxiety and concern associated with breast cancer examinations.
Improved Spatial Resolution

The detector uses Pr:LuAG (Pr:Lu3Al5O12) scintillators with excellent timing resolution. Compared with whole-body PET systems,
PEMGRAPH has a smaller detector separation, and the use of fast scintillators helps improve imaging performance.
Furthermore, by optimizing the Pr:LuAG scintillator crystal size for the detector configuration,
a spatial resolution of 2.0 mm or better has been achieved.
Compact Design

The main unit has a compact installation footprint of 50×165 cm2, approximately 50% of the area of a standard tatami mat (91×182 cm2).
The detector positioning mechanism is motorless, helping reduce the overall weight.
Vertical detector movement and ±90-degree rotation make breast positioning easy.
Time Saving

Each breast can be scanned in approximately 3–5 minutes, and both breasts can be examined in about 10 minutes in a typical protocol including positioning.
Image reconstruction takes approximately 1 minute, enabling images to be reviewed immediately.
